She garnered some media attention when her name was mentioned as a possible candidate in the race to replace Hope Hicks in the role of communications director. It's been a nasty fight. Schlapp was a ally of Tony Sayegh who was also a candidate. The two began fighting in the media. Schlapp confronted Sayegh following that the Washington Examiner printed a bad story on him.
